During Monday’s Fox Sports 1 broadcast of “The Herd,” Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long shrugged off the NFL’s ratings drop being attributed to players like teammate Malcolm Jenkins protesting the National Anthem.
Long said that “a lot of people are having more fun watching football than ever” and players are putting their social consciences over the league’s success.

Ratings matter.
It’s one thing to talk about a social conscience; it’s another to put one’s money where one’s mouth is. An audit of charitable donations would be instructive.
Wow, this guy is completely delusional. I and many other friends who are die-hard football fans, and watch every single game Red Zone etcetera, watched almost nothing this year.
Hey Chris - as though your being an Oregon Quacker was not bad enough, thinking clearly is not your strong suit. If I had put myself and my causes above my employer’s, I would have - and should have - been fired.
Just so you get the picture, the NFL is now dead to millions of ex-fans. I could not care less about your business.

I think that it’s very likely that the Eagle will draft a DE. At the very least Tim Jernigan will get the majority of the snaps next year. Long will be gone, or.in a much reduced role.
That’s because it hasn’t hit their pocketbooks yet.

He meant to say, "There are 9% LESS PEOPLE watching football and the reason is idiot players putting their selfish, childish social consciences over the league's success".
And this shows what a moron he is in a nutshell. If in fact more people than ever were having fun watching NFL football(because who doesn't love having sports politicized) than we wouldn't be seeing the the reality of ratings falling as they have and there wouldn't be risk to the leagues success.
But the majority of these players are illiterates who became wealthy on one skill and are now working hard to kill the only thing willing to pay for that skill. Social justice? if they were really so concerned with social justice they would put their money were their mouths and knees are.
A totally unexpected development.
If truly a matter of conscience, the thugs should just quit professional sports and get real jobs.
Long is a filthy rich white man on a never-ending guilt trip that he was not born black. He’s your typical liberal snowflake.
