These are pop art portraits. Setting aside my political distaste for the Obamas. Three things come to mind:
1) As pop art, I don’t think that these portraits will age well. Generations from now, art students will scratch their heads and wonder what were they thinking.
2) Neither picture is particularly complimentary for the subject. Mr. Obama is engulfed in the plants and Mrs. Obama is overwhelmed by her gown.
3) I am relieved that this crap was privately funded.
