Not to put too fine a point on it but opening a letter (i.e. an envelope) does not imply that the envelope contained a "warning."

That was my point. It is a leap to go from envelope or letter to white powder to "warning" unless you have information as to the truth of the matter.

It is one of those little details that matter a lot.
