My ex would get whizzed when I would leave a quarter or so when receiving bad service.
She said it was embarrassing, just leave them nothing.
I contend that by leave a little THEY should get the message that I didn’t ‘forget’ them, maybe they should work on their serving skills...(one of my earlier/part time jobs was bartending so I do tend to overtip)
another goodie is ask for change of a quarter and leave them a dime or nickel ... Then they REALLY get the message.
I’ve never asked for change for a quarter - ha! Well, I’d never do that but it sure must deliver the message. I try to be as understanding and forgiving as possible. Accidents And kitchen type mistakes happen, too. Hostile or insulting waiters are still unacceptable
