Can anyone explain to me why these guys aren’t being protected as the “endangered species” they obviously are? Seems to me that at a minimum all dykes, levees and roadways in Fresno and Stanislaus Counties need to be declared critical habitat and humans should be prosecuted for any interference with natural conditions there!

Also, water should be diverted from human activities (farming, drinking, bathing) to insure these adorable critters can enjoy a habitat suitable to their nature. I would suggest the Hetchhetchey reservoir be selected as the source for this.

“Endangered species” have to be native to the area——these rodents aren’t.
