WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. Have you heard loud booms in Wheat Ridge lately? Thats the question police are asking residents following several reports of loud booms or explosions across a large area of the Jefferson County city.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Wheat Ridge Police said they have taken multiple calls and noticed several posts on social media regarding the mystery noise over the past month.
The noise is described as a single loud boom, occurring more frequently on weekends, although police say some have happened on other days of the week, between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Some callers said they saw a flash of light.
