How about she just decides not to board the plane in order to save the life of her devoted support animal?

The hamster likely wouldn’t travel in any different environment than any other animal who travels in cargo, and they survive just fine.

Or maybe handing it off to some kid UNboarding a plane who’d have been thrilled to take it (maybe not the parents, but the kid would have been happy).
