If that hamster was at all important to her, she should have stayed behind, rented a car, and got it home that way—if she couldn’t work it out with another airline.

Sounds more like this sicko needed the flushing.

Good thing she didn’t have a “emotional support pig”

It would have clogged the toilet.

Just sayin’

Something is strange about this story. I read several different stories about this, and the woman involved (Belen Aldecoasea) is said to be attending at least four different colleges - each story has her attending a different one:
Barry University in south Florida, Texas State University, Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and Maryville College in Maryville, Tennesee. Either the story is a hoax, or she doesn’t seem to be able to stay on one school for very long.

This is really getting out of hand.

Pretty soon, I won’t be able to bring my emotional support rattlesnake ‘Nippy’ anywhere...

NOT a joke...

Flushed it down a toilet? A sad waste. Should've found someone traveling with a cat.

Didn't she have it in a cage? Or at least a box that could've been taped shut.

The hamster supposedly meant that much to her but when inconvenienced she killed it in a fairly Inhumane manner. What a psycho.

Truth is, the little girl probably survived the flush, and even the trip through the line. Her demise most likely came from being dumped in the nearest manhole with no way out, combined with sewer gases. Would’ve tried to stay on those small ledges around the bottom. Death may have taken days.

Student, 21, sues Spirit airline after she flushed her 'emotional support HAMSTER' down the toilet

Send her a bill for the standard Hamster funeral cost of $500

Spirit Airlines sues student for being too unstable to even be on their airline with all her potential issues and ‘baggage’. :-)

"Woman denied emotional support peacock on United flight"

These self-indulgent scheming jerks are good reason to bring back a very appropriate form of social correction. It should be administered at the very airports they afflict others with their sociopathic (or minimally sociopathetic) stunts - with their "emotional support" animal to be tied or caged along side them.

The maximum possible award would be the value of her ticket, because she could have simply walked away. Nobody forced her to do anything to the hamster.

So what a shame. All the years of training for the hamster literally down the drain.

Couldnt she have found an animal lover there!? Or maybe she is the only hamster nut around and Spirit airlines made the cardinal sin of hurting one of the open mental health system that our society has become, walking on eggs around these nuts

So she plays competitive sports at the college level? What does she do with her emotional support hamster during the games? I would think it doesn’t get much more stressful than that.
