I prefer text as it is faster to go straight through and easier to scan through when searching for a particular part.

You tube needs a feature where it does voice recognition to create a linkable transcript for videos that are more speech based than visually based for their primary intellectual content.

You can play it double time with subtitles but sometimes that still take too long.
