In the video it’s clear that when Finicum said “you’ll have to shoot me” he knew he was talking to law enforcement.
Like I said, Ammon Bundy lived to fight another day. One of the passengers in Finicum’s truck also got out. They all survived, unlike Finicum who committed suicide by cop.

Federal law enforcement referred to them as ‘retards’, ‘rednecks’, ‘tractor face’ (I figure a direct reference to Ryan Bundy with his face disfigurement who was injured by the FBI agents bullet right before LaVoy was killed by the OSP).
It was easy to fire shots at LaVoy and the others because their humanity was devalued by the degrading names.
The Wooten Memo also said pictures of Cliven Bundy and another man had “X’s” drawn through their face and body.

There’s a documentary called “American standoff” show video from inside the truck as well as overhead video.
They truck wasn’t ongoing 70 mph, more like 30 mph, when it hit the snowbank. They shot at the vehicle soon after it stopped moving. Lavoy exited the truck as instructed, then it appears his was shot from behind.
