Magnificent statue in that one photo.
BTW: I’d rather have Putin as a next-door neighbor than Obama!
But then I’d rather have a rabid dog as a neighbor than Obama.

The Left doesnt hate Putin because he is a tyrant or a dictator or a warmonger or a meddler. They love those qualities in other world leaders.
No, they hate him because he is the Caucasian leader of a largely Caucasian nation. That makes Putin for them the ultimate demonizable villain, even apart from his KGB background and authoritarian sensibilities.

Chuikov is the only Marshal of the Soviet Union not buried in the Kremlin wall. His last request was to lie near the soldiers that had sacrificed themselves to defend Stalingrad.

I think “Tovarich” is the word? I don’t know what the feminine form would be.

And here, the national felon league doesn’t allow an ad that asks for the players to stand during the National Anthem.
Also, there is a cool photo with some ppsh-43s (or ‘41s). And one with M-44 carbines.

One thing that they do in Russia that’s very impressive is the annual “Immortal Regiment” march on Victory Day (May 9), where they hold up photos of relatives who fought during the war.

Thanks for helping... one would think it would be "Tovaricha" then, because in the Russian language that's how words, especially names, are feminized, with the "a" suffix?
That's a question, I don't claim to know anything about the subject...

Speaking of impressive, check out the giant statue at the Daily Mail website... I forget what it’s called; my Chrome crapped out about the time I was checking it out and I didn’t get to read any of the text...

Thanks, I like that. Notwithstanding that the Soviet system was sinful and cruel and murderous as hell, give ‘em a little credit - a little - in the music and art departments.

'Defenders of Stalingrad have passed a great heritage to us: love for the Motherland, readiness to protect its interests and independence, to stand strong in the face of any test,' he said, calling on Russians to measure up to their ancestors' example. I know the objections, but I'm going to give this one to Putin... those who defended Stalingrad were heroic...and set a standard.
