Heck, I think the horns are not actually on the fish.

Seems they are behind the fish head.

Just my opinion.

Maybe he heard about hornyhead chub and let his imagination go wild...

Looks like his modeling is inspired by Kentucky creek chub, only they grow double row of tubercules a/k/a “horns.”

There are probably similar chub in Asia.
