Was Finney a Mason? How does he know what goes on in a Lodge? Would you accept advice to fix your car from a Plumber? I'm a Mason. I also teach Sunday School at my church. I also teach home study in my home. The secret stuff you seem to be concerned about that is done in the lodge is helping children, helping widows, helping people that there house has burned, helping children get medical care, feeding some homeless people, ect. There is NOTHING that happens in the lodge that I wouldn't do in the open, but I'm not looking for approval from men.

The pope is against Masonry for some reason they thought up. Finney apparently doesn't like Masonry for some unknown reason he thought up. You can twist any verse you want to mean all sorts of things you can define out of context in Scripture. I don't spend all night monitoring FR for comments that are useless and uniformed. If you have never been to a lodge or don't hang with Masons, how can you evaluate the value of Freemasonry? I was merely pointing out you were relying on someone that lived long ago, who probably was never a Mason to form your opinion. Inform YOURSELF, and then comment. I would rather be in the company of Geo. Washington, Hamilton, Hancock, Sam Adams, and I think Patrick Henry, or in the Texas Revolution, Houston, Travis, Boone and others. These were leaders that formed countries and governments that rivaled the greatest in the world. They had wisdom and common sense with the courage and will to make it happen. Many of the greatest people that have ever lived were Masons.

To be upset that we have secrecy in what we do is just envy. That's against the 10th Commandment BTW. There is much we do even today that goes "unsung" as they say. The Lodge doesn't seek fame. These are humble men seeking to make things better for people that have been dealt a bad hand. I've even seen a lodge that built a new house for a widow with children. That's why the lodge is so attractive to serious Christians who want to participate in good works. There are many churches that don't have the money or the manpower to accomplish much as a church. There are churches that have the manpower and money but do almost nothing. If someone is looking to give back to the community, the Lodge could fill that need for them. It is NOT a religion and you may have to show grace to people that don't believe as you do. There are Hypocrites in the lodge just as there are in churches. At some point you just have to go where you can follow your drives and not worry about others trying to manage your future. I would hate to go through life avoiding Masonry because of what someone else told you. Find out for yourself and make your own choices. If you are a believing Christian, you should have enough discernment to decide for yourself if it's eeevvvilll.( said like Boris Karlof would say it) Chances are you will see people you know and never thought were Masons.

You apparently haven’t read Reverend Finney’s classic work, that I have linked twice in this thread, entitled “Why I Left Freemasonry”...

So... until you do your homework on Finney’s Christian refutation of the entirety of masonry, I won’t take the time to read your (wordy) post.

Please educate yourself on the history of the Anti-Mason Party, and how and why it is the foundation for modern conservatism as well as Lincoln’s Republican Party, the GOP.

Read Pres. John Quincy Adams’ refutations of freemasonry as well before you get back to me.

You’ll learn a lot, and possibly spare your soul and others from eternal damnation.

Just do your homework and get back to me. Until then, you are just posting promasonic, pagan gibberish.
