"You mean The Russian Empire....Let's not forget that Russia has been like this long before the Bolsheviks came onto the scene."

That's true, including political censorship! From an old American point of view, empire, monarchy, communism, fascism, they're all too similar--very centralized and too corrupted at the start. Most Chinese folks don't know it, but they're addicted to empire and expansionism, too.

I really wouldn’t say Monarchism and Empires are all that similar to Communism and Fascism. Let’s not forget that Communism/Fascism and its ilk got its start with the French Revolution when the Jacobins murdered their king and instituted the Reign of Terror, and the Founding Fathers, many of whom were not particular fans of the monarchy, nonetheless decried the French Revolutionaries as being even WORSE than the monarchists (some even had the foresight to see that it was going to end very badly). If anything, Communism and Fascism have more in line with Anarchism than they do Monarchism, also democracies (or more specifically, mobocracies). Besides, a lot of Disney movies and fairy tales show Monarchism in a good light, and God IS a monarch.
