Henry VIII was a nasty human being
One of the very few things the French have done correctly was to EXECUTE all royalty, root and stem.
Nobility is the equivalent of organized crime.

It will never change.
Most of the French now have a love affair with their Secular Humanist masters. There is no difference, actually.

One of the very few things the French have done correctly was to EXECUTE all royalty, root and stem. Yup! By executing anyone with brains and the ability to lead (not just royalty) they insured that France would go from the most powerful force in Europe, both militarily and scientifically, to a bunch of cheese eating surrender monkeys who could only win when led/rescued by foreigners...

The Bourbons have available a potential Louis XX in the Duke of Anjou
The Orleans faction the Count of Paris
And for Bonapartists a choice of Jean-Christope, Prince Napoleon
or
the Duke of Castel Duino, Carlo Alessandro,
or
Charles, Prince Napoleon
Then, of course, the British Jacobite claimant (the current ruling family of Britain having given up their claim a couple of hundred years ago
Franz, Duke of Bavaria (f/k/a Prince of Bavaria)

Except thats not really the case, the French nobility still exist and there are three noble house waiting in the wings should a miracle occur and duty calls. There’s a House of Bourbon contender, House of Orleans contender and an upstart House of Bonaparte contender. I think if the chance ever occrs - “Nobility Wrestling” and televise t!

They learned revolutions were far more efficient than elections. Here, we intertwine the two every so often.
