2. I may be a newbie, but have been visiting FR for about 5 years and this the only place I have the heard or seen the “Amish” meme.

It is a joke, the Amish are the most benign and harmless of societies outside of the norm. Also think of the humor of an Amish person using technology in a terror attack.
