Since it’s the 40 year anniversary of Terry Kath’s death, I’ve been going back and playing a lot of early Chicago recently.
Damn, he was good, he really was the engine for that band, and they never were the same after his passing. IMHO every bit as good as SRV, if he wanted to pursue a solo career, in terms of guitar playing and singing.
Been listening to a lot of Sergey Kashirin in the Chicago cover band Leonid and Friends. I just bought their cd Chicagovich.
Terry Kath was a great player but I always found that the horns made his guitar solos too far and between. But then I can be a sucker for six string electrified excess.
