I know there are a lot of computer geeks in Freeperland. What malware protection is best, in your opinion.
BFL
The for sale version of malwarebytes protects you against ransomware. The company I work at uses this after we we were getting too many calls about ransomware. After installing the calls disappeared.
I just use Windows Defender and haven’t had an issue in the years I’ve been doing it - ran Malwarebytes a few times and only came up with some “PUPs” but nothing worrisome.
Maybe I should re-install it?
We have a great local computer show here on WTIC 1080 AM every Saturday morning: "Computer Talk With Tab". It usually runs from about 9:00 - 11:00 am. They very highly recommend Malwarebytes.
Your problem was most likely caused by your firewall. You can white list sites in reputable firewalls.

If choose 5 antiviruses I would advise these:
Eset
Kasperskiy
Scanguard
Avast
Norton
By the way, my preferences are consistent with antivirus rating. What about https://bestantiviruspro.org/review/mcafee-review/ level of protection; mcafee review?
