The article calls her a feminist, but I’m not sure that’s true. She was one of tens of thousands (if not more) of women of that generation that simply stepped up to do what had to be done. Kudo’s and thank you’s out to them for doing so, too.
I saw an old copy of a poster long ago showing Rosie kicking Hitler in the crotch.
The “who” is not important this far removed from WW2. The poster represents all women who contributed to the defense effort. The sadness should be in the realization that the Nation no longer seems to have the intestinal fortitude to mobilize for such a herculean effort.

My mother and her dad worked in the aircraft industry in SoCal during WWII.
(Incidentally he was over 40 and had previously served in WWI, but nonetheless he was registered with Selective Services for a draft if needed.)
