I think most will be surprised that Dunkirk wins best picture, Gary Oldman wins for playing Churchill in Darkest Hour, and Nolan wins as director for Dunkirk. It’ll be a very British ceremony. I think most folks will buy Darkest Hour and Dunkirk DVDs and play them over and over.
The most liberal film will win.
Gary Oldman is pretty Conservative and I don’t think they will give the Oscar. I would like to be surprised. They may give it to Lewis since he says he is retiring.
My only other prediction is I think, based on sentimentality, that Plummer will win for “All the Money In the World”.
