Pencil in Torvalds as undecided.
And Intel wants to keep it's back door open? /s

Meltdown/Spectre are built in features

The NSA’s and FBI’s back door.
And now also the ChiComs, Russians, various muslim groups, likely AntiFa trash too ... all because (I would suggest) they didn’t want Trump to play with a toy meant for Hillary and her kind.

Linus Torvalds has a reputation for being extremely derogatory toward anything he doesn’t personally create, or use to create.

Ditto!
It's one of the reasons that I stopped using Linux, or even following development of that OS.
Can't take the arrogance of that man, and of the many Linux followers who worship him as a god.

Torvalds is simply a demigod.
Unlike Gates or Lovelace.
Simply everyone knows that Jobs was Zeus.
I would go with The Woz.

Well, it’s not as though Stallman had enough time to come up with his own Linuxy kernel. Linus is a kernel guy, always was. Linux as a user environment is a misnomer. It should be called GNU. Linus has the right to opine on the impact on his kernel. Don’t like it, get another kernel.

Intel Says the Patch Designed to Fix Flawed Chips Is Faulty
Intel Corp (INTC, +2.05%) said on Monday that patches it released to address two high-profile security vulnerabilities in its chips are faulty, advising customers, computer makers and cloud providers to stop installing them.

Sounds like you and Linus went to the same school of arrogance.
BTW, I didn't like his attitude and I gave up on "his kernel", and I haven't missed it one bit. Heck, about 99% of PC users don't miss it either.

Lucky for the world, he didn't go in the same direction as Mohammed, otherwise, we'd be bowing to the religion of Linobnoxious.

Linus Torvalds has a reputation for being extremely derogatory toward anything he doesnt personally create, or use to create.although its quite true that Linux is effectively a cult of personality, in practice Linus is usually right to criticize; in this particular case his criticism is apt. Anyone who dares to work in Linux kernel development knows the score - Linus holds all the cards and he calls the crap out whenever he sees it because everyone trusts him to set the standard. Piss him off at your own risk, hey lifes too short for us to cater to snowflake mega corporations who plop CYA at the top of the todo list.
So far Linux has been the most successful ongoing project in the history of software. And Linus has always had the last word. So if he calls some kernel patch crap Im certainly going to examine it carefully before I pick it up and try to defend it.

Having had substantive conversations with both Theo and Linus Im going to have to say although both guys are totally genius, Linus is an order of magnitude better at engineering management. Theo is too much control freak, though hes improved some in recent years.
