There’s currently a debate raging as to whether a teenager should be allowed to call her dog Negro. Actually, some people are so annoyed Twitter user @rebeca_macias18 named her missing hound the Spanish word for black they have suggested it should be changed. But the anger towards her seemed a bit unfair as she’s from Mexico, so speaks Spanish, and was not trying to offend anyone.

Some social media users argued she should have known how insensitive the word, which has been used to disparage black people in America, was. This Twitter user seemed to suggest the word should be changed even though it wasn’t supposed to refer to a person’s skin colour

The word is what the Spanish slave traders referred to African slaves as. It was adopted by the English and incorporated into our language. It’s strange that Blacks like to be called “Black”, but consider the word “Negro” to be a slur.
I have often wondered why Blacks do not object to the Arabic word for slave, which is also the Arabic word for black. If this is not correct, please let me know.
To me it is idiotic for Blacks to take Muslim names, claiming they are readopting their African heritage. Africans who were sold into slavery were not Muslim in the vast majority of cases.
If Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch slave traders had done what Muslim slave traders did to the Black slaves shipped east to Muslim nations, there would be very few in the Western Hemisphere. Muslims castrated the males, and used the females as sex slaves.
Let’s just say it. Everything is racist. Pointing out any truth is racist. All shades of any color are racist. Every discernment since the moment of your birth is racist. Only once the sun is blotted from space, and all those other stars as well, and nothing but blackness exists anywhere, will there be no racism, wait, did I say blackness everywhere? I guess even that is also racist.
Next question: is it really important to call out racism once we get to this hysteria point?
She should have named the dog “Schvartze.”

They renamed the dog “Digger” for the ill-fated remake.
Last few times I saw DB on TV, “Trigger” was dubbed in. Great flic with outstanding special effects. One of the first semi-documentary films.
A bit of trivia: Robert Shaw had an early screen credit gig in DB as flight crewman John Pulford. 617 Squadron still flies - Panavia Tornadoes - the last time I noticed.
