Barring weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances, it is anticipated that most major utilities as well as County roads will be back in service in the areas of Montecito outside the areas impacted by the flood and debris flow. These are areas bounded by Montecito Creek, San Ysidro Creek and Romero Creek. Areas impacted by the flood and debris flow will require extensive efforts to provide utilities and road access. Once the utilities are restored in the other areas, decisions will be made on the rapid return of residents to their homes wherever possible.

When do they expect to have 101 cleaned up & open?

One report said that they are estimating over 1 MILLION dump trucks full of mud & debris just in opening the highway-101.

MY questions—having lived with the environazis in Calif for 40 years-—WHERE are they going to be allowed to pile all this debris? Trees—vegetation—mud—broken pipes—dead animals—you name it. ESPECIALLY since the precious California coastline is involved. WHERE will they put 1 million dump trucks full of debris???

I one had a bookkeeping client who had a 2nd home in Montecito. Pretty sure he is gone now—would be too old to still be alive. Montecito used to be really nice, but based on the pics I have seen, there are too many houses now & TOO FEW orchards.
