Just a month ago, as friends and families prepared to gather for the holiday season, the men and women at the U.S. Census Bureau were busy releasing their latest annual estimates of population changes across the United States.
With the hustle and bustle of the season, many Americans missed the important new data. The new census estimates detail how states have grown since the last full census in 2010. The estimates provide some fascinating insight on what we can expect from the quickly approaching 2020 Census.
For those of us wonky enough to follow the annual trends in state-by-state migration, the numbers were an early Christmas gift.

I'm not saying that they all have to go out and learn how to dress a dear or get a pig, but don't go freaking out when you see a guy, in Publix, with a pistol on his hip.
I am moving to Texas from Virginia in the future and I swore that I will not bring the same BS that VA is becoming.
Virginia has been turned into a fecal pit by unchecked immigration, both foreigners and liberals.
I am VERY worried about this. We plan to move South at some point to a Red State. Some of these Red States seem to be going from Purple to Blue...
And government employees. Don't forget the government employees.
25 years ago, I advised my Virginia-born neighbor that Virginia had 40 madrasahs. (Islamic training schools).
Twenty year ago? Yeesh.
I lived in Hampton, Va for one year when I was a kid due to the moon landing.
The only moslems I ever heard of were in story books and had curly shoes and turbans. Oh, and Hadji on Jonny Quest. Or maybe he was a Sikh. Not sure.
Anyway, they have invaded our shores pretty good now. And you were onto them so long ago.
We’re considering a move from CA to TX. As retirees, this is a huge change for us, but our only child lives and works there permanently (since mid 2016). Considering our votes have been neutered for over two decades in CA, it may actually be worth the extreme weather change to be able to impact an election. Neither of us has ever voted DEM for POTUS and won’t in the future.
Im a New Yorker, but think I would enjoy Texas
it’s probably all liberals flocking to red states with low taxes- swell
You might be better off thinking about relocating to the Dakotas, Nebraska, or Wyoming to find a conservative values community. Demographics is destiny and things are slowly changing in the Carolinas and Georgia.
My bio:
Then: I’m from NY, Long Island to be exact. Born and raised. Been in the Atlanta area for 22 years.
Now: Pickup truck( my second), Bronco, Polaris, 2 gun safes-full, ammo, reloading machines, deer hunt, fish, want more property so I can have a mini-farm to raise my own food, proudly exercise my 2nd Amendment right-every day.
When I see people from NY, I cringe, hoping that I wasn’t like that when I first moved South. I’ve completely embraced what it is to live in the South, as far as I’m concerned, and loathe having to fly into Laguardia, even if it is to see my family. I like doing for myself.
But, the northern suburbs of Atlanta are changing the landscape of the state. It isn’t a walk in the park for the Right, anymore. Much like it is in Virginia for you. The Western part of the state votes one way, while NorVa and Richmond vote another.
Good luck in Texas!!!
If you’re on Facebook, look up: Flip the 6th.
Bunch of “out of state” liberals moving into the district because the safe neighborhoods and good schools. Of course, the ones pushing for the “flip” make sure that all the undesirables don’t live anywhere near them. They just show up to mow the lawn or do the laundry.
It’s a page dedicated to turning the 6th Congressional district from, Red to Blue. It is the district that Tom Price came from. The run-off took place between a 30yr old, WHITE, hipster, who didn’t even live in the district and Karen Handle, a professional politician who has run for anything and everything she can run for.
Initially, he almost took the 50% needed, as there were a bunch of candidates that spread the vote. She won the run-off, obviously, but it wasn’t a very strong showing.
North Carolina is a perfect example of what will happen. Crazy immigration pushed by all the development in Charlotte and the Research Triangle. Northerners moving down for jobs and better quality of life. And .... VOILA!!! At best a Purple State that sends people like Tom Tillis to DC.
Good luck with your move.
These people are the equivalent of toxic spores that are released into the air.......they made their own state into a virulent organism that, once ripened into full bloom of collapse, spews its infection, looking to take up residence elsewhere, only to infect and replicate in its new host home
The gop just cut its own throats.
Liberal Yankees and there stupid off spring are pouring into FL like Niagara Falls .
They bring there rude ugly behavior and politics.
Its going to be a nightmare now.
All we see are NY , NJ , Conn , Maryland , Va , and Mass plates .
but NY is half of the invasion .
What a disaster the Gop has created .
Conservatives need to leave the NY, CA, VT, IL, VA and get to red states now. There will be an inevitable war because Dems are evil and corrupt and the actual wannabe Hitlers, Stalins. We already see what Obama did, what Hillary was going to continue.
Toss in thousand’s of Puerto Rican’s that will never go home and Florida is done. They’ll just collect their welfare and Section 8, on the mainland, instead of the island.
when did you arrive
You bring up a great point, but, so many of the Conservatives in those areas, don’t have jobs that are easily transferable.
Think about a cop or fireman in one of those states. I’m not here to argue their pay and benefit package. But, they can’t just pick up and leave, until they finish. Now, take the liberal, Democrat software engineer or salesman, he/she can do their jobs from anywhere with an internet connection. Lots of companies now, especially the ones that rely on contractors, don’t even provide an office. They expect you to do the work out of your home.
And you are 10000000% right on who really are the Fascists. It ain’t the folks on the Right.
