Sure we need to be proper and cautious ... but not immobilized and not wait too long to take action, share info etc.
When I contact my congressman and ask him to take a stand on an issue, I don’t want him to think that he can dismiss/ignore my concerns because he (his staff) can see that I am misinformed. When a situation is critical and urgent, it is especially important that our arguments be sound.
Your last sentence is absolutely correct and striking the correct balance is crucial.
