The Germans who invaded Russia certainly earned the hatred of the Russians, and after a long, bloody invasion, the Russians engaged in barbaric payback when they rolled into Berlin.
And many innocent German women suffered for for it. It's easy to say "they deserved it", but it wasn't the SS getting raped.
