Marcus Williams missed the important tackle in the New Orleans Saints season, allowing Stefon Diggs to score a miraculous touchdown and send the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC Championship Game next week.
After the game, the amateur editors at Wikipedia had their say.
Pro Wrestling Walrus @RasslinWalrus Oh my god, the Wiki trolls already got poor Marcus Williams of the #Saints. 🤣🤣 8:16 PM - Jan 14, 2018
Easiest tackle in football history? Well leave that to your opinion, but Williams did have the chance to send the Saints to the next round of the playoffs.
The Saints second-round draft pick this year, Williams has a very bright future in front of him based on how well he played as a rookie, including his interception in the second half of this game, but this night will sting for a while.
Wikipedia doesn't let Buckner off the hook:
Mookie Wilson fouled off several pitches before hitting a slow roller to Buckner at first base. Aware of Wilson's speed, Buckner tried to rush the play. As a result, the ball rolled to the left side of his glove, through his legs and into right field, allowing Ray Knight to score the winning run from second base. Had Buckner made the play with Wilson safe at first, the score would have remained tied for the next batter. Had Buckner put-out Wilson at first base, Game 6 would have gone to an 11th inning.I watched that game in the company of a bunch guys from Brooklyn. They went crazy.
Did u see the video of thw Steelers fan who said he was going to kill himself...incredible to watch.

Good grief. That’s a ridiculous thing to do. It’s just a game.
Wow, that’s quite the story.
He was trying to avoid a pass interference call, realizing he would hit the receiver before the ball arrived. But instead of putting on the brakes (extremely difficult once momentum is increased) he went low. He slid into his teammate who was coming across and would have otherwise had a shot at the tackle or a shove out of bounds before the goal line. Bad luck for the kid; with better timing of defender-ball-receiver he’d be the hero instead of the goat.
I watched the game with a bunch of folks from Boston.
We went crazy too, but in a different way.
Well...it was QUITE an Error! :-)
Yeah - but, they had made a historic comeback and all he needed to do was make enough contact to hold him up for a second so someone else could help keep him stopped - time was too short for another play. I think he thought that he had to try to jar the ball loose and his adrenaline overrode his mind and body.
