What's your favorite old T.V. show theme song?
Use to be some great shows on T.V. back in the day.
I remember that one. It played over weird, almost psychedelic reflections on water. At least the version I remember.
I liked the music for the old early-morning CBS show, Sunrise Semester. An often-early riser. I learned a lot of college-level stuff in grade school and junior high!
Who’s that riding in the sun?
Who’s the man with the itchy gun?
Who’s the man who kills for fun?
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad.
He sleeps with a gun
but he loves his son
Killed his wife ‘cos she weighed a ton.
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad.
A little touched or so we’re told
Killed his wife ‘cos she had a cold
Might as well she was gettin’ old
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad.
He’s quick with a gun
And his job ain’t done.
Killed his wife by twenty-one,
Psycho Dad!
Who’s that riding in the sleigh?
Who’s that firing along the way?
Who’s roughing up bums on Christmas day?
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad
Who’s the tall, dark stranger there.
The one with the gun and the icy stare.
The one with the scalp of his ex-wife’s hair!
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad!
Who’s that riding across the plain?
Who’s lost count of the wives he’s slain?
Who’s the man who’s plumb insane?
Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad, Psycho Dad
He’s a durn good pa, but he hates the law.
He’s likes to eat it raw, He’s Psycho Dad!
Bit off topic but Summer Rain by Johnny Rivers is one of my all time favorite tunes.
I think he was high as a kite when he did that.
Robert K. Dornan briefly hosted a conservative talk show in the spring and summer of 1970. I later saw a movie that used this music as its theme. Dornan later embarked on a stormy career in Congress that lasted two decades.
“ And the agony of defeat! ”
If he got royalties every time they played that (and he should have, I hope,) it was probably worth it taking the spill in front of the cameras!
Heh. I felt sure I’d be the only one to like and remember The Rebel’s theme.

Could be, Johnny was known to pop a pill or two back in the day.
Lost In Space, both themes. One of John Williams’ early works.
Ya beat me to it!
Not really a TV show theme, but I used to love the Schoolhouse Rock videos.

Yep, I’ve been reading posts on FR since 2000. Need a little decompression every so often.
