A previous scare in 2015 — when concerns focused on toddlers accidentally eating the pods — inspired calls from Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) for new regulations on the pods.It's rather surprising that Chunks Schumer wasn't the one screaming about it.
Why is it that every time some stupid fad hits the streets, it's a Democrat that ALWAYS jumps in front of the cameras demanding new regulations?

Hmmm, saw a Tide commercial the other week promoting its locking safety bag, iirc.
Thinking about it, the safety issue was long ago addressed by mfgs of automatic dishwasher detergents because [real] kids were mistaking the colorful tabs for candy, since most people probably keep the stuff under the kitchen sink.
