HE is a deranged mentally ill MAN. Whenever the media attempts to force this language change on us, it is our duty to correct the errors. I would propose that we actually go so far as to edit any fake news stories that use this newspeak to reflect reality.

People in MD will be thrilled at this latest choice for the Senate, but they will stick with the incumbent as they nearly always do.

Wouldn’t it be more appropriate for him to run in Kansas? He *did* live there for 7 years and was scheduled to live there for 35 years.

Winning the primary will be the hard part for Manning. You can bet the DNC will do everything imaginable to win the seat if Manning can get the nomination.

Bradley Manning is a convicted felon; convicted of several High Crimes equivalent to espionage and treason. How is it possible that he is even eligible to vote, much less run for federal office.

Manning's sentence was commuted, he was not pardoned, therefore he remains a convicted felon.

Since his sentence was commuted (he was not pardoned), his convictions stand and he is not eligible to run for public office.

How is Bradley going to appear as he never violated the below requirement (excerpt from linked column) with his military oath ?

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." (Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962).

the post-Civil War Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution prohibits any person who has taken any federal or state oath swearing to support the Constitution, but later took part in a rebellion or otherwise aided any enemy of the U.S. from serving in the House or Senate.

Will be interesting to see this play out.
