I recently learned a new use for Rubber Duckies...

When weaning a young heifer calf from the milk bottle it is difficult to get them to switch to drink milk from a bucket. If you bottle feed it takes forever, especially if you are tending 50 to 60 calves.

By throwing a rubber duckie in the milk bucket, the young calf nudges it with her nose out of curiosity, and ends up tasting and drinking the milk in the bucket. It accelerates the process immensely.

Every dairy farmer needs to keep a supply of rubber duckies on hand.

Just another use for rubber duckies.

Brilliant! I admire the Dairy Farmers that I know personally for their ingenuity when faced with finding a better way to do things...
