/src on/Asking the important questions./src off/ Just like all the Imperial Officers in Star Wars, until the most recent one, had British accents. Of course the opposite happens in that British accents are used to emphasize high class or book smarts.

Because Star was voiced by Jeremy Irons — a Brit, while Mustafa was voiced by James Earl Jones — American.

Even as a kid I always wondered why Destro - real name James McCullen Destro XXIII - never spoke with a Scottish accent. Not until the live action movie anyone anyway.

Destro with a Sean Connery voice would have been epic (and accurate).

Like in the election meddling cartoon where the villains speak with Russian accents?

Never in my life have I seen so many adults (?) agonizing over freakin’ CARTOONS.

Most of America’s “villains” have typically been foreigners, or those who speak another language. THEY’RE GONNA HAVE ACCENTS.

I learned a good bit of German when I was overseas, but real Germans told me I had an ACCENT.

Right here, in the USA, anytime a movie wants to denote hillbillies/hicks/rednecks, they FAKE a Southern accent. On big city gang movies, it’s Chicago, or Noo Yawk accents; cowboy movies feature Texas accents, and don’t forget the “Valley Girls” of California.

Hollywood has stereotyped everyone from the time the “talkies” were invented.

Most of us, with a stable, adult mind find these cartoons either, silly, or humorous. They weren’t created with the intent to degrade, immortalize, or insult anyone...just to be friggin’ CARTOONS. Normally fare for children.

In past years I’ve heard complaints that the Roadrunner is “abusive” to the Coyote. All the time, the coyote is trying to catch said roadrunner, kill him, and have him for lunch.

It’s pen and ink drawings, transferred to celluloid, and projected on a screen. They don’t feel pain, remorse, embarrassment, or any other emotion unless an ARTIST draws them in.

Some days I can’t believe what I read about this crap.

Years ago THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES appeared on TV — NBC, to be exact. It was followed by Johnny Carson.

Carson walked on stage and said, “I just saw THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES. Gee, I didn’t know Martians had British accents.”
