Just received information (5:33 PM) from local resident who lives in the flooded area next to Highway 101. Resident texted me and stated that 101 is now open in both directions between Santa Barbara and Ventura Resident did not state if all lanes were open. Information needs to be confirmed
Wow that was fast. Island Packers is running shuttles tomorrow from Ventura to Santa Barbara. They expected 101 to be closed awhile.
What flooding? I thought CA was on fire. What did I miss?

It was on fire until it flooded.
My cousins are in Montecito. They evacuated but they heard this morning a river of mud ran down their street with huge boulders. No wonder 13 people have been killed.
Ventura/Santa Barbara area got 2.34 inches of rain yesterday, last night, and today. Because the fires burned all the plants holding up the hills they had mudslides. 13 confirmed dead and more missing. One mudslide was across the 101.
