The only thing they will never, ever do, is to make more A-10s. Arguably they “can’t” because the tooling has been scrapped and turned into fidget spinners made in China.

So, they take off and land.
How did they do with CAS under fire?

ah, the great military-industrial complex of the USA.
For nearly a generation now McPain and his cronies in military has been trying to destroy one of the most deadly, toughest, reliable and efficient killing machines and want to replace it with soda cans airplanes loaded with million dollars smart weapons.
I guess you just gotta keep feeding the BEAST

Sierra Nevada A-29 Super Tucano and Hawker Beechcraft AT-6 Wolverine light attack planesThose are NOT potential A-10 replacements, unless they mean for the countries our military are leaving will fly them to replace the A-10s we're taking with us.

These are not replacing the A-10.
These planes are to augment the A-10 force (such roles as FAC think O-1 Birddog), and be used in smaller engagements where the A10 isn’t economical.

These planes are not a replacement for the A-10 , they are a supplement to it.
These aircraft are cheaper to operate against Afghan style insurgents and Jihadi.
A-10 are often too expensive and are overkill for this mission.

If the military brass ever attempts this shit-sandwich replacement for the A-10 warthog then they should be hung for treason!

So how do these light attack/forward observation aircraft compare to the OV10 Bronco? And why does the US Military keep having to reinvent the wheel?

If they won’t build new Warthogs, then build a CAS drone with similar capabilities, including the big gun.
