THIS is the moment a komodo dragon guzzles down a monkeys whole body in gruesome footage circulating online.
In the clip, the enormous lizard can be seen swallowing a large monkey as it takes shelter from the suns rays.
The monkeys legs dangle helplessly from the dragons mouth as it slowly takes increasingly large gulps of the hapless primate.
With the dragons head swaying from side to side, the monkeys body descends further into the creatures mouth.
Finally, the clip ends with little more than the monkeys feet visible as the triumphant dragon looks directly at the camera.
It is not known where the video was filmed but wild komodo dragons only live on the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, Gili Motang and Padar.
The footage was shared on social media site Reddit this week, racking up over 700,000 views and thousands of comments.
And observers were quick to share their concern at the disturbing clip.
Well from the size of that monkey it will at least eat children for sure, one wrote.
Another said: That thing has got to have an insane digestive system.
While another simply wrote: Godzilla vs King Kong.
The komodo dragon is the largest living species of lizard growing up to 10ft long.
Last year, one was seen hiding in a mans toilet before leaving a poo on the floor as it left.
Pretty cool.
Another feral creature to be introduced to Florida in the near future.
See post 30.
My sister is a komodo dragon.
I have three thoughts on this. First, getting eaten whole is a terrible way to go (funny how that rhymes). Second, I never did like lizards. Third, if the lizard eats the rest of the monkey, why not the tail as well?
My sister once shot a Komodo Dragon in her pajamas.
wait did you see that on the gorilla channel? What time? I’ll set DVR I don’t want to miss it.
Clip will run on The Gorilla Channel.
Q1: Do Komodo dragons like their monkeys rare, medium or well done?
Q2 How the heck did she doing let a Komodo dragon get into her pajamas?
The monkey was probably injured, diseased, or old. OR, it (the monkey) thought as you do (”I’m too quick for that lizard to catch me”), got a little too close, and then discovered that the “dragon” can lunge / snap with startling quickness. Komodos are also accomplished ambush hunters.

The Gorilla Channel was in the monkey.
Hmmn. No.
The monkey was in the Komodo Channel.
Surprised the monkey was slow enough (or the Komodo was fast enough) to get bitten in the first place. Komodos usually bite, infect the victim with saliva and bacteria, then wait for the victim to die before catching it.
That was mean of you - how did you get it to do the deed?
A 1) Yes
A 2) We’ve wondered that for years. :0)
Primates......it’s what’s for dinner.
Those two guys were comic geniuses.
Yes, they were.
One of my favorite lines is near the end of their old radio parody, “One Fella’s Family”:
“One Fella’s Family is produced by T. Wilson Messi. This is a Messi production.”
And there was the “man-on-the-street” live interview with a cranberry farmer, while gunshots, screaming and sounds of general mayhem were going on in the background.
My sister bit a komodo dragon. Said it tasted like cheese.
Did you notice that they ALWAYS got to their correspondent Wally Ballou just a tad late?
“-ly Ballou here in....”
