I’m am counting on bacon, and beer, to get me to my centennial.
Diet Coke came out in 1982. Must be more to this.
My Mom-Mom (Dads Mother) lived to 103. Out lived all 3 of Her Sons. She traveled the World in Her younger years, 50-80) Rode Camels in the Mideast, collected 1000s of Camel anything memorobilia, smoked unfiltered Camel Cigs, drank Screwdrivers or Bloody Marys daily and RULED the Family when/where ever She was.
Her 101st Birthday somebody wanted to give Her a Cane that was Camel Theme. Handle was the head, staff the neck with a Hump halfway down and then 4 feet for the base. Really cool piece. But were scared to do so. I said give it to Me, Ill do it.
I gave it to Her and quickly backed out of range.
She checked it out and said I LOVE IT!
I found out later She did smack the Cousin that got it for Her;)
Hell of a Woman.
She also Signed off on All 3 Sons to join WWII while under age while She worked at a Bomb Plant.
Im fairly sure if She had been given the chance to be in range of the zero She would have Bitch Slapped him;)
Pay off
Then what got her through her first 69 years?
“I have a bag full of empty Diet Coke cans that I need to return to buy more Diet Coke.”
Good thing she lives in Michigan! (Wonder if she ever met the Mahatma?)
Happy birthday!
My MIL lived with us until she was 103 years old. We had so many stairs in our house it was getting difficult for me to “take care” of her. We were so afraid she’d fall, and probably take me with her, that we finally found a nice retirement place for her. We moved to a small town and she’s about a mile away now and we see her every day.
I can tell you her secret to longevity is great genes. Her immune system is amazing. She’ll get the flu (refuses immunizations) and will be a little sick for 2 or 3 days. Then, she’d give me the flu (I do get immunizations, for the wrong ones I guess) and I’m down for the count for 10 days and sick as can be.
Her stories from the past are so interesting to listen to. She’s had an interesting and varied life. But, she too wonders why she is still here. I think that is pretty common for folks this age.
Mom will be 104 soon, and other than a little short term memory loss, is doing very well. Bored as can be, but otherwise healthy as a horse.
Yep. I’m counting on Brat’s, garlic, and brewski’s to carry me through.
LOL! :-)
Diet Coke eh?
Doesn’t Trump drink 12 of them a day?
Coke Zero or filet Dr Pepper tastes so much better than Diet Coke.
Did your grandmother go to India? Maybe she met the Mahatma (Seinfeld reference. Not suggesting any untoward behavior, however...)
A late second cousins wife called to tell me another cousin had passed at 94. I asked about another cousin who lived with her. Her late husbands sister a miserable woman who never had a good word to say about anyone. Oh shes 99 going on 100
I immediately texted my brother cousin B** died. G***** is still alive at 99+ only the good die young
Who know "filet Dr Pepper" was a thing? But I agree! :-)
Ha. A little auto spell error.
He also likes to eat in the bed.
A lifetime of artificial sweetener? I think not.
Another disgusting example of white privilege. /s/
Seriously, this old girl is amazing, she appears overweight, apparently does not eat the approved diet, yet she’s 104, still mobile and very much mentally intact.
She’d done all the right things for her genetic structure, which is my belief as to how long a person should live. I really think I should live the age of my parents if I take care of myself, which includes not living in places like CA, NY or Chicago.
I personally do not eat breakfast as doing so causes weight gain. I’ve met other elderly folks who do the same and they are quite healthy and happy. As with this lady, a good diet is what works for you.
