I think you engage in conspiracy theories... Hatch is one of the most senior members of the senate, to tell him to step aside for someone who will be a JR guy is beyond stupid.
Hatch has health problems, and is retiring... nothing really more to it than that, IMHO.
You are correct that he is leaving because of health problems. Doesn’t stop many senior senators.
