Apple has a battery problem and tries to address it - users scream and feign outrage, bring class action lawsuits, Samsung has a battery problems and ignores them until they explode - users are bemused and silent.

A cell phone without a replaceable battery is a disposable phone with no used phone market for something that will become a brick unless you pay to have it opened and battery replaced.
The way to beat this scam is to purchase a 4-year warranty that covers the battery.
