Actually, its a good idea to hold off prosecutions and unveiling the goods on Demozits......until we’re closer to midterms.
People have short memories.
So hold off til it can do the Demozits real harm at midterms.
I really hate to tell you this but you are wasting your time with these Sessions supports like triple E and others. They are so brain dead it is really sad.
Point 1, Why hasn’t Sessions taken the Tranny case to the USSC?
Point 2, Why hasn’t Sessions charged the Sanctuary city officials with obstruction of justice?
I could go on and on!
I finally got this whole thing figured out. It’s a Catch-22. Trump needs Sessions gone for ~100 excellent reasons, not the least of which is that Mueller is completely and wildly out of control. His ‘mandate’ has become, ‘Anything that might conceivably hurt Trump in any way.’ His budget is unlimited. His oversight consists of, ‘Go get ‘em, Bob!’
But here’s the catch. If Trump fires Sessions, the MSM will go full throttle, hair-on-fire Saturday Night Massacre hysteria mode. Bc politicians are pack animals, both parties will join in.
The Democrats are conditioned to shark-frenzy attack at the first drop of blood in the water. The GOP immediately joins in bc they are abject cowards. When both the MSM and the Democrats are in a fight-to-the-death cage match against a single Republican, the rest of the GOP can’t throw the individual under the bus fast enough. It’s happened a hundred times; it’s what they do.
Trump is in a terrible spot. He really, REALLY needs to be rid of Sessions, but realistically he can’t fire him until Mueller’s witch hunt is over. No doubt Sessions and Mueller know this. As a result, the investigation will drag on forever. It’s the only way the anti-Trump forces win.
(No doubt there will still be people who believe that Trump could survive such a concerted, never-ending two-party-plus-MSM onslaught. There’s no getting through to these people. They don’t live in the real world.)
‘So Sessions works and reports to Rosenstein?’
From a practical standpoint, this is probably true. When Sessions recused and Rosenstein appointed Mueller, Rosenstein became the effective/de facto AG, and Sessions became, for all practical purposes, his deputy.
All of the people I’ve seen mentioned as good replacements for Sessions at DoJ are lawyers. Unless being a lawyer is a requisite of the job (which I don’t think it is) then I’d suggest that maybe it’s time to fill the position with a non-lawyer. A huge part of the D.C. corruption stems from office-holders, lobbyists and government employees who happen to be lawyers. Perhaps it’s time to change that.
True believer.
Good luck with that.
If JS or POS was actually going to do anything there would be signs that something was in motion. POS would not have said on the Hannity Show several months back. “I’m not going to prosecute anybody.”
Hang in there with your naive believe that prosecutions of major figures in major cases can somehow be kept secret in DC or anywhere else for that matter.
POS was ALWAYS a political animal, timid and tepid, blowing where ever the political winds pushed him. Never, never have faith in any politician or you will be forever disappointed, especially if they come after you personally.
Against Trump, will be more Mueller indictments, possibly of his family. Expect another salacious accusation of some sort to add to the feeding frenzy for impeaching Trump, or even some coup by his own cabinet.
Against the DOJ, will be the Nunes/Congressional reports, if not a Contempt of Congress against the DOJ. Possibly the DOJ IG report, but since it's coming from the DOJ, I wouldn't put much faith in it now. These items could give Trump the cover he needs to clean out the DOJ.
Right now, in both these areas, Sessions has worked against the President. Will that change once the bombs start going off? We'll see, but so far he's done most everything you would expect a deep state sympathizer would have done, so I'm not really expecting anything different.
Sessions will almost certainly never side with Trump. Trump has publicly impugned Sessions’ integrity. Sessions won’t forget it, and so far there’s no evidence that he has any intention of forgiving it.
The “just you wait” argument doesn’t hold water either because Sessions
DOJ is not conducting these scandal investigations.
It is the DOJ IG, an independent investigation group.
And the head of the IG is an Obama appointee.
Has nothing to do with Sessions.
What happens when the IG report whitewashes these scandals
just like Comey whitewashed the Hillary investigation?
Is Sessions going to discredit the IG report?
Hell no. Sessions will just point to the IG report as a reason
to do nothing. It will give him a way out.
If the IG report is whitewashed it will also defang congressional
investigations.
So it all rides on the IG, who was appointed by Obama.
Btw, why did Sessions’ DOJ *refuse* to say why Mueller was given a conflict of interest waiver? That stinks like an exploding whale carcass.
If Sessions refuses, Trump could more likely fire him with Congressional approval. The importance of Lindsay Graham coming out yesterday n support of a second special counsel is massive. Remember Graham is the one who said there would be “Holy Hell to pay” if Trump fired Sessions. That stance could quickly change now that Graham himself has put Sessions on the clock.
The DOJ is keeping the verbiage of the waiver secret, because they know it's a perfect alibi for anyone charged by Mueller. We're lucky we even know about it, as the press has completely ignored it other than the first report which was a MSM source.
Isn’t it a little late for alibis? Flynn already had to sell a house to pay legal bills, which are still mounting up.
For some time the Left hasn’t really cared if they get a conviction or not. The goal is to bankrupt conservatives and/or people associated with Trump. They’ve got the routine down to an art form.
Maybe.
I still don’t see how Sessions or congress can discredit a year long
investigation by the IG unless they attack the IG as an Obama appointee.
Congress would have to uncover information that the IG discarded,
overlooked or whitewashed.
And since the DOJ and the FBI are not complying with document
request, how does congress get those documents and interviews
as a basis for calling for a Special Council.
I fully expect that, if they wait until the IG report is released before releasing all of theirs.
But they have the benefit and advantage of being able to release multiple reports. A good strategy they are surely considering would be to release one before the IG, containing very damaging information and forcing the IG to hold serve and contain it as well. Then when the IG report is released, then release another from Congress as say but you still missed this, this, and this.
Regarding your other question, here’s an example of how:
Ryan: Nunes source a whistleblower type
http://thehill.com/homenews/house/326458-ryan-nunes-source-a-whistleblower-type
Let’s hope there are some whistle blower types who have access to
the specific documents Nunes is demanding. And that they are all
not part of the corruption. That there is a few Patriots that have
access too.
I wish he was gone already but since next week is good.
He won’t do anything.
What from the past year suggests that?
Nothing, unfortunately.
