Letter to editor:How marriage protects women

The recent wave of sexual abuses of women is tragic. Despite increased achievements by women, the outcomes have been unfortunate for many others. Ironically, feminism has thrust many women into isolation and abuse. Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, and feminist Gloria Steinem bear much responsibility. Despite today’s contrary belief, women are not equal to men. Men are not equal to women, either. There are natural, God-created differences, and we would do well to remember them.

Women are most liberated (free from predators) and safest when they are bonded to a man they have made commitment to (marriage). Women who refuse to value marriage and motherhood set themselves up as open competitors and victims in the sexual market. Many seeking power have prostituted themselves, whether by seductive (un)dress, casual hookups or adultery. Because they are our mothers, sisters, wives and daughters, women are worthy of greater respect and protection.

An intelligent man of integrity seeking an ordered and gratifying life wants only one woman for a wife. A virtuous woman desirous of stability and peace wants only one husband. She is much less likely to be harassed by men if married. Marriage protects the relationship between men and women and society in general.

Many sexual untruths and myths have flourished for the last 50 years. We have gone from the Defense of Marriage Act to no boundaries for sex. Hollywood has been dishing out salacious sexual anarchy and confusion for years, so it is not at all surprising that leftists and liberals are caught up in sexual abuse and sins.

Yes - Ephesians notes the difference when it tells women to respect their husbands and for husbands to love their wives.

It acknowledges that the way we think and value things is different - women base more on love and men on respect so we should practice a bit of each other's inner workings to form a more perfect union........hmmmmmmm

You’re right; the fact that marriage “protects women” may well be the main reason men aren’t interested anymore. It certainly doesn’t protect men, and many of them feel it “entitles women”...
