raid was in retaliation for the Americans burning the Canadian village of Newark, a few weeks earlier.

It’s a very distinctive easy to see how it played out battlefield

And the book shop has 1812 stuff hard to find anywhere else

And some battlements and old homes etc still there

The British were at first overconfident and then the terrain bigger then down with their line

They charged a very fortified line in a virtual flat grassy field

And USA arty downriver did its job despite bad odds

Virtually everything went our way
