Actually, in the early days, rock and roll was about WINNING, not about angst.

Early rock and roll was heavily rooted in the blues.
The blues were not about winning. ;)

Chuck Berry is rock and roll. He always wins. He took some licks from the blues, but the spirit is entirely different. It’s joyous and light.
