I presume yes - the point, I think, is to try to prevent another Vegas shooting. Some sort of maid service WILL happen every day, at the very least garbage collection. It’s doubly ironic because Disney was testing opting out of maid service over the summer and fall and NEVER does maid service as part of the Disney Vacation Club rooms (timeshares). Now they’ve “added a perk” of maid service to DVC rooms.
Frankly I don’t have a problem with this.

Which means never leaving stray cash on a countertop as you empty your pockets. Staff will steal paper money claiming they thought it was a tip (but strangely enough they never take the pocket coins).
I hate to break the news to Disney, but unless they plan to also rifle through luggage and garment bags, they are not going to prevent another Vegas shooting. And even if they do, something on a smaller scale will still be a piece of cake with just a 3 or so trips to load up.
The way to prevent these killings is to not set up venues where 20,000 people are sitting ducks to people who rent rooms overlooking them. In other words, use some COMMON SENSE.
