Yes. John the Baptist ate them. I ate some by accident. Now I know what chilaquiles are. The ones that I ate were filleted and mixed in with scrambled eggs and chicken. Not bad. I thought I was eating some type of new vegetable.
Chilaquiles is a dish or tortillas covered in salsa or mole. If you ate that, you didn’t eat bugs. But if you ate chapulines, you ate grasshoppers.
I wouldn’t eat insects on a bet. Not if I can reach into my freezer and pull out a steak, chicken, turkey, pork or other protein.
Funny and scary thing about this is if this takes off, the liberals will demand we do everything to get rid of meat, including jailing people who process and eat animal protein. Meanwhile they will dine on filet mignon and lobster and commend us on our transformation to eating insect protein.
