“Look at that game if you can and you will see why people no longer watch the NFL, it is unbearable. “

i don’t know: i found the inability of either team to hold onto the ball highly amusing ...

"We need a forward-looking thinker to help us expand the NFL franchise...someone with great ideas...who can think outside of the box..."

"I have hired a new consultant to bring the NFL into a new age!"

"...he's someone you all know..."

“The NFL is actually better positioned to survive cord-cutting because 90% of their games are still broadcast on over-the-air TV.”

possibly. but everyone i know gets their broadcast channels via cable or satellite. I don’t know a single person with an actual over-the-air antenna. and generally speaking, cord-cutters are cutting because they have no interest in ANY TV channels, both cablecast and broadcast, and i DO know several cord-cutters ...

They know what the problem is. The Times' Comments section is telling them that we know too. If they won't address it, it's because the Players' Association is telling them they can't. Which means nothing is going to change until the contracts start to shrink, and that might take a while.

Hiding the problem by playing peek-a-boo with it really isn't even acknowledging the problem much less addressing it. It isn't just going to go away.

It’s mostly about the protests - but partly (and importantly) about the growing realization that the important games feature pre-arranged results to maximize television revenue.

When a fan finally and grudgingly admits that his favorite sport has all the verisimilitude of WWE, he loses interest in a hurry - never to return.

“Fire all of the RACISTs, and there will be a largely white league with only 10% black players left.”

Yes apply the Affirmative Action laws to professional sports.

I was forced to watch my first NBA game in decades yesterday. Cleveland and Golden State. Just a bunch of primadonna crybabies. The only thing I watch is the NHL. College football is preferable to NFL.

They want to discount the anthem protest because there is nothing they can do to “change” that damage. It is done.

I always called it the National Felon League.

Going to rename it to the “Work Release League” and make Goodall the probation officer.

...#1 NFL has been quietly paying off all criminal charges and arrest warrants for their “players”/aka/Gangsta Felons
any NFL player arrested for a crime will be terminated.

...#2 No more Celebrities All NFL players will keep an athletic professional “SHORT HAIRCUT”, no more fros, no more Corn Rows, no more rasta dreadlock BS.

...#3 NFL players interested in social revolution must find time off the field to vent hatred.

...#4 NFL “Kneelers” must announce a formal apology to the citizenry of the USA for disrespecting our National Symbol the Stars & Stripes , if they desire to play in the 2018 season.

...#5 Any NFL player who kneels during the National Anthem will be terminated, forfeit all future pay & be escorted out of the stadium immediately after the Anthem ends.
