Kwanza was a completely made up religion and highly racist. It never really caught on. I’ve seen it as comedy since day one.

From my observations Kwanzaa is dead.

Other than a small number of Black Panther militant types, Kwanzaa never really took off among most American blacks as a legitimate holiday to be taken seriously. Most people celebrate whatever holidays they grew up with, an a completely ad hoc, politicized sham couldn't really supplant Christmas except among the most loud-mouthed radicals. The inventor of Kwanzaa probably would have been more successful if he just agitated for a an Afro-centric Christmas - i.e. something phony, but not so obviously so.

It appears to have one the way of Festivus, which seems to have reached its peak during the George W. Bush presidency. Festivus was actually celebrated at college fraternities and the like, but I never knew--or knew of--anyone who actually celebrated Kwanzaa.

“From my observations Kwanzaa is dead.”

As long as there exists white, liberal grade school teachers, Kwanzaaaaaaa will continue to exist. If ever you feel the urge to send a stupid, white, liberal female a gift, go to Amazon and pick out a nice soldering iron or vise. She won’t understand the gesture because she’s stupid as a rock, but the gift will be Kwanzaaaaa correct.
