Have moved a lot and realized packing and moving furniture is more expensive than buying new or used stuff.
Recently donated a house full of furniture & household items to Habitat and believed they would give it to needy families who have experienced losses due to storms, fires and floods. Do they?
Reminds me of a story. Years ago, I went shopping with a neighbor, she bought new, very expensive leather handbags and so I was particularly disgusted when she scraped a $5 tag from a charity shop rug - took it to the cashier and offered her $2. I called her on it and said she should pay the $5. We never spoke again. Theif!!!!!
Yes. Most are resold if the product is fixable and so on. Have seen people try this tag switching. Most of the time it doesn’t work. Most of the Staff know when someones cheating or if the tag has been switched. The stores I go to use wax pencils to mark the merchandise, in one particular color...the employee marking the stuff has a recognizable signature.
That was exactly why we had the policy of refusing to sell it until the next day if the pricetag was missing or altered.
We never spoke again.
