My wife is a “shopgoodwill.com” addict. Better than her being hooked on some chi-chi boutique.

Yep. You’ve got to go almost everyday. I pass by three on the way home from work.

Nice. I recently picked up a Sony CD/DVD player with an HDMI output for $4.75. Also found a like new Polk PSW125 powered subwoofer for $50. Going to use that last item to shore up the low end of my Magneplanar 3.7i speakers.

One of my best was this kayak for $50 at the Salvation Army. Half off, including paddle.
Had many great adventures with this kayak.

I've been shopping Saint Vincent DePauls for years. I find vintage concert shirts for 50 cents each and LP records for a quarter each.

    Nice.
There are some good deals on clothes, too. I’m a fan of the old classic men’s shoe brands, and I found some Allen Edmonds, barely worn, at a Salvation army for $12.50 (retail for $185.00).

Can’t say I ever got anything worth bragging about at a thrift store except years ago I stumbled across some antique handtools and toolchest which I took home, took forever restoring and enjoy showing off.

I've picked two excellent used computers from the Goodwill Computer works in Dallas
They work on them and replace the hard drives in them.
I'm on the Gateway now. Older i3 dual core 3.30Ghz with 16 gigs of ram...$125. Found one for the 4k TV for $175. Optiplex 3.2Ghz i5 quad core, 8 gigs of RAM, 500 gig hard drive.

What few times I have, me neither.
I’ve dropped a lot of stuff at the thrift store near me because of the recent big move.
I’m trying to pare down more.
I doubt anyone is interested in a Sony Beta SP unit and edit controller or a military surplus folding stretcher?

Coolest thing I ever got at a thrift store was a copy of the book 'Failure Is Not An Option' by Gene Kranz, NASA Mission Controller.
Grabbed it, paid for it, took it home, and when I opened it up to read it, there was an autograph plate. Yes, it was a signed edition!

I brought home a bag of VHS movies last week for a buck fifty.
I’m thinking a lot of people will be donating stuff this weekend. Right after Christmas is a good time.

To: Dallas59
    I like to think so.
Throwing perfectly good things in the trash is abhorrent to me. I’d rather see someone else get value.
Stuff that’s obviously had it, gets junked no question.

One of the more interesting things I saw at Goodwill was stacks of donated toiletries and cleaning supplies, as if Big Lots said “Here, we can’t sell it, you take it.”
