I had several relatives serve in WWI.

One, a Great Uncle was wounded and disabled. He was considered quite a catch by all the girls because of his government pension.

Ww1 was a senseless war. I remember seeing an interview of the last surviving soldier, believe be was British. He looked at the reporter and kept saying “why,why,what did they all die for?”. Not many good wars. Revolutionary,ww2.Not many others. I felt really bad for that guy.
