Biologic contamination is orders of magnitude more critical, yet of course is always absent from science fantasy novels.

Well, there was the novel by Michael Crichton, Andromeda Strain.

Shooting arrows at Spaniards who had muskets and cannons worked out real well too. lol

They had arrows? Wow, learn something new everyday; had no idea that the plains bow made it far enough south to intersect with the Spaniards. Did the natives ride their horses into battle too?

Bows and Arrows

Bows, known as tlahuitolli, were common as well. The bows were 5 feet long, and the arrows (yaomime) were pointed with flint, bone or obsidian, and kept in a quiver (mixiquipilli). As with all their weapons, the Aztecs were very skilled in using the bow and arrow. It is believed that the arrows could fly 450 feet or more.

I don't think you have to exegete all of Mt 2 to get the main idea of the Christmas story in 1-11 that God condescended to be born among men (as prophesied), in order to take on our sin and to save those that believe on him, and to be there object of worship for all eternity. The prophesy showed the men from the east, and Herod's own wise men to discern that.....and they were gentiles, no the people that should have been expecting (Jews). Interesting one group of Gentiles came to worship, and the other aligned with the murderer Herod. Some things never change.

But there is no room for alien UFOs if one holds to biblical truth. However, I note there is one party that seeks to lie and destroy men, and has the power to make such manifestations. That is the demonic realm. There is a war going on, so a distraction from the work and glory of Christ.......fits exceedingly well. That is my reference to being careful which lens you choose to interpret the world. The Bible, or the world under the influence of demonic spirits.

I also don't think there is a disparate interpretation of Mt 2. There is a right way from using sound hermeneutics....and there is everything else.

So slam another whiskey and have a Merry Christmas. Imma have another beer.

..other than it was you who referred to the entirety of Matthew chapter 2..

to get the main idea of the Christmas story in 1-11 that God condescended to be born among men (as prophesied), in order to take on our sin and to save those that believe on him, and to be there (I hope you meant 'their') object of worship for all eternity.

You could have saved some time by stating that back in #34 instead of being obfuscatory.

But there is no room for alien UFOs if one holds to biblical truth.

Well, actually there is depending on your definition of 'alien'. If by 'alien' you mean some intergalactic spacetraveling entity then there is no Biblical wiggle room. If by 'alien' you mean 'foreign to our normal plane of reference' then there is plenty of room carved out in Ephesians 2:2 for that as you did correctly mention. And any contacts, any advice offered, any spiritual guidance brought by such 'beings' are lies and smell of sulfur..

Have a Merry Christmas. I'll go back to drinking my herbal tea.

Precisely why I didn’t want to respond. Here on FR it is always a contest to see who can be the most obtuse.

A UFO by definition means that the object is flying and we can’t identify it. Obviously there are UFOs. Is the unidentified flying object extraterrestrial simply because we can’t identify it? No, of course not, it’s just unidentified.

UFOs, in the sense that they are the product of extraterestials, are not happening. Much of it is pie pans on a string and meteors.

Any one knows what a meteor is so I think that is
trying to simplify it too much.

Hoaxes with pie panís and camera has probably been done.
but pilots reported UFO,s back in the 1940s and many times
since.

My wife and I saw a solid green light travel from the eastern
horizon to the western horizon in 8 to 10 seconds one time when you heading south in the Mexico dessert.

A jet would take several minutes and a meteor would take a second.

I always grew up with a belief in God, but no clear idea what that meant exactly. No religion was taught at home and I had no real understanding of what any branch of Christianity believed or had in common until recently, since 9/11.

But, I also grew up during the space race, the birth of computers, computer generated reality and artificial intelligence, and also experienced the science fiction and fantasy I loved in my youth move from the books I read to the big, small and handheld screens along the way and into our common social consciousness now.

And all the while, my curiosity about God and the supernatural has grown stronger. Honestly, I’ve followed my curiosity into places I should have run from, but that’s how I used to learn, I guess.

Fortunately, I wound up in some study groups lead by a former minister, who had an incredibly broad knowledge of spiritual and mystic things outside of the scope of his original Protestant Christianity. If it was in the realm of mystic or metaphysical, we looked at it.

Of all the things we talked about, there may have been many things, but I do remember one thing in particular that scared him.

He like to remind people that everything is food for something else in this world and that is true for humans, as well, and not just as prey for predators to eat, or in the Josey’s Wales, “Buzzard’s gotta eat. Same as worms.”, composty kinda way.

Instead, he was talking about the beings that feed off of the energy that humans beings constantly radiate. See, we humans radiate all sorts of energies, especially so when we’re emotional, either good or bad, but just when we’re being our everyday selves.

Have you ever walked into a room where people had been fighting or laughing or whatever and you just “felt” it when you walked in?

Have you noticed how some people are just upbeat all the time and you feel good just being around them or how others are kinda beatdown and you feel depressed just being around them, let alone hearing what they’re dealing with?

There are also people, energy vampires, who either knowingly or unknowingly feed off of other people’s emotions and energies. You probably have or know some of those in your life, too, who just seem to drain the energy out of you just being around them.

From what I gathered, these beings he was talking about, and duly scared of, are beings of immense power, who exist beyond the range of our physical senses and feed on the energy that humanity gives off.

From that point of view, I began to see how we truly are the crops planted in the Garden, originally intended to produce good fruits for the Owner of the Garden, with Love, love for the Creator and love for each other, being the intended good fruit.

Oh well... You know what happened to the Original Plan, right? And while God is away, and until His Son returns, we humans now produce in mass quantities all kinds of fruits in this garden gone wild for the beings who tend it. They stir things up and feed on our radiated energy, with each emotion, good, bad or in between, being perhaps like a different flavor or spice.

Personal problems, family struggles, city strife, societal conflicts, wars to world wars, each and all offer a veritable feast for the beings who stir the pot. That is why we are to, as Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know I am God.” Don’t be food. Don’t feed the beasts

The group leader told us what they are called once, something having to do with destiny, and then wouldn’t speak about them again. I’m guessing they’re up around the archangel level in the cosmic hierarchy and are outrageously powerful compared to a garden plant like me. Anyway, it scared me pretty good then and still does now, especially so the more I learn.

Gird your loins as in Ephesians 6:16 kinda way and arm yourself with the best weapon you can have in this war: the Peace of Jesus and His Grace.
